Acceptable Use Policy

1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Fabric AI's models, datasets, APIs, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). This AUP is incorporated by reference into the Terms of Use. By using the Services, you agree to comply with this policy. Violation of this policy may result in restricted or terminated access to the Services.
2. Permitted Use
Fabric AI's models and datasets are released under open-source licenses to encourage broad beneficial use. Permitted uses include but are not limited to:
- Research: Academic and industrial research, including model evaluation, benchmarking, fine-tuning, and safety research
- Commercial applications: Integration of models into products, services, and internal tools
- Personal projects: Individual creative, educational, and experimental use
- Educational use: Teaching, coursework, and educational demonstrations
- Derivative works: Modification, adaptation, and fine-tuning of models, subject to the Apache 2.0 License
3. Prohibited Use
You may not use the Services for any of the following purposes:
3.1 Illegal Activities
You may not use the Services to engage in, promote, or facilitate any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations, including but not limited to fraud, money laundering, terrorism financing, human trafficking, child exploitation, or any other criminal activity.
3.2 Harmful Content
You may not use the Services to generate, distribute, or promote:
- Hate speech, harassment, bullying, or content that incites violence or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Sexually explicit content involving minors or non-consenting individuals
- Graphic violence, gore, or content promoting self-harm or suicide
- Defamatory, libellous, or fraudulent content
- Misinformation or disinformation intended to cause harm
3.3 High-Risk Applications
You may not use the Services in the following high-risk domains without implementing appropriate safeguards, human oversight, and risk mitigation measures:
- Healthcare: Clinical decision support, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or patient management without appropriate medical professional oversight
- Criminal justice: Risk assessment, sentencing recommendations, or predictive policing
- Financial services: Credit scoring, loan approval, insurance underwriting, or other automated decisions that could result in material harm
- Critical infrastructure: Control systems for power grids, water systems, transportation networks, or other critical infrastructure
- Weapons: Development, targeting, or control of weapons systems
- Mass surveillance: Development of systems for mass surveillance, social scoring, or unconsented biometric identification
This list is not exhaustive. If your use case involves significant risk of physical, financial, or psychological harm, you should implement appropriate safeguards regardless of whether it is explicitly listed here.
3.4 Impersonation and Deception
You may not use the Services to:
- Impersonate individuals or organisations without explicit consent
- Create deceptive content intended to mislead or defraud
- Generate deepfakes or synthetic media without clear disclosure of AI generation
- Create chatbots or automated systems that impersonate real individuals without disclosure
3.5 Reverse Engineering and Extraction
You may not:
- Attempt to extract, reconstruct, or reverse-engineer proprietary model weights, training data, architecture details, or other confidential information through adversarial methods, model probing, distillation, membership inference attacks, or any other technique
- Use the Services for competitive model extraction or to replicate Fabric AI's models for commercial distribution under a different name
- Circumvent any technical access controls, rate limits, or usage restrictions
3.6 Service Abuse
You may not:
- Use the Services in a manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Services
- Automate access to the Services in a way that exceeds reasonable usage limits
- Use the Services for mining cryptocurrency or other computationally intensive activities unrelated to model inference
- Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code through or in connection with the Services
4. Enforcement
Fabric AI reserves the right to investigate and enforce violations of this AUP. Enforcement actions may include:
- Issuing a warning or notice of violation
- Suspending or terminating your access to the Services
- Reporting violations to relevant authorities
- Pursuing legal remedies for damages caused by violations
We reserve the right to determine, in our sole discretion, whether a use of the Services violates this AUP. We may update this AUP from time to time, and continued use of the Services after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
